PRINT at LAURENCE KING
this is my limited edition giclee print created with wonderful publishers laurence king. they are currently working with their various authors on producing complimentary items to accompany their books such as art prints and stationery goods. my print features my favourite design motif, an apple, in a colourful folky scandinavian style pattern. the giclee print is really superb quality on 350 gsm museum etching fine art paper by hahnemuhle (gorgeous!) and measures 290mm x 390 mm. they are all signed and limited to 100 prints. available online here.

NEW ROBERT KAUFMAN FABRICS

i have been so lucky this year to be working with the fantastic robert kaufman fabrics based in los angeles. working together with them i have been able to produce around 30 different patterns all for release throughout 2012. the first collections will be in stores from february and feature mainly kitchen and fruit designs printed on lovely 100% cotton. all this came about from a chance encounter i had at the surtex show in new york with designer amy schimler, so i must thank amy for introducing me to kaufman and starting me on the right road. you can see the first release online here under the name 'print & pattern' (my other blog).

A WARNING ABOUT ASDA
i just wanted to post a word of warning to other freelance designers out there after i have had my fingers burnt by uk superstore ASDA. they approached me to submit some concepts for their christmas 2011 ranges. i submitted my tree and bauble designs (above & below). things went well and they asked me to mock up a whole selection of products for them which i then had couried to their head office in leeds to the buyer for festive/fireworks. after they recieved all the samples everything went silent and the buyer in question would suddenly no longer take my calls or answer emails - they were always in meetings or out of office. i was dismayed at this attitude because all they needed to say was 'thanks but no thanks'. then as i supsected they released a tree and bauble collection for christmas that to me sort of looks like a pared down version of my concept. its no so much them using me for design inspiration that hurts but the fact that they just cut me dead. its so rude. so i would warn anyone against sending their concepts to this company and advise you to be careful if you are approached by them.
my designs above - and Asda's actual xmas collection below.

POP UP ETSY SHOP PRINTS
i've had an etsy shop since 2007 but for the last couple of years i just havent had the time to work on it or even to have it open - until now. after a few years working only for clients i really wanted to do a project for myself where i could be totally in control of design and colour. and so i have put together a few art prints which you can see in my inkjet etsy shop online here.
