i've been lucky enough to be able to create a brand new studio space this summer for my designing and writing. im still getting everything in and arranging it where i want it but im up and running and straight back into work. 
after the initial build and decor came the exciting bit as the ikea lorry arrived. this is what they left me - a huge pile of flat packs !
that same day the john lewis lorry arrived to bring me my kartell ghost chair by philip stark. i have wanted one for years, it lets the daylight pass right on through and is so so comfortable.
i decided to fill the studio with ikea billy shelving for all my books, boxes and cards.
i now have all my books close at hand, and a dedicated section for the one i wrote 'print & pattern'
i also opted for doors on one of the billys to store all my crafty bits, envelopes, bubble wrap etc.
i love the old fashioned postcard racks and added one to display my cards
some of my favourite things : orla kiely and bridgewater mugs, philip stark lamp and sukie noteblock. i love the ikea tripp tins below.

the walls are painted in 'sea shimmer' by dulux which is avaialable from their mixing machines : )
